The women’s Sidi Alba 2 Road Cycling Shoe is a refined and highly durable shoe, that has several design features for a women specific fit. Showing many trickledown features from Sidi’s road shoe line up, the Alba 2 offers premium performance at an entry-level price point. The Alba 2 is a high-performance shoe in its own right, ideal if you’re new to road cycling or simply wanting to save your race day shoes for the best occasions.
The upper of the Alba 2 is made from Politex, a compacted PVC compound that is paired with a knitted fabric and felt. This combination of materials and construction means Politex is highly resistant to ripping, tearing and stretching, making the Alba 2 a long-lasting partner for long days in the saddle in British conditions. The Politex upper is made of few panels to reduce seams and, along with the narrow Velcro straps, help create the Alba 2’s sleek appearance. The upper is also tapered and narrows across the ball of the foot to mimic the tapered shape of a woman’s foot and improve fit.
The Millennium 4 Carbon Composite sole has also been designed with durability in mind. The sole consists of a Nylon matrix that has been injected with carbon fibre, leading to a rigid sole that is non water-absorbent, and will withstand long, wet days in the saddle. A guide on the sole aids easy cleat installation and alignment for three-bolt cleats, and a replaceable heel pad improves walkability and the shoe’s longevity.
Comfort and fit are central to the Alba 2’s design. The Tecno-3 System dial allows you to easily adjust the fit of the shoe, even on the move. The dial is paired with the Soft Instep Closure system – a wide, anatomically shaped EVA thermo-formed pad that disperses pressure evenly across the top of the foot – and also gives that iconic Sidi look. The position of the Soft Instep closure system is also adjustable, so you can fine tune the fit in accordance with the shape of your foot.
On the women’s Alba 2 the reinforced heel cup has been narrowed for a more women’s specific fit, ensuring even greater comfort and support, whilst improving power transfer and providing extra protection should you come off your bike.
